Trailblazing Australian singer Helen Reddy dead at 78

Australian singer Helen Reddy, who became a global superstar on the back of her hit I Am Woman, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 78.

Her kids, Traci Donat and Jordan Sommers, affirmed her demise in an announcement on Reddy's authentic Facebook page on Wednesday morning. 

"It is with profound misery that we declare the death of our dearest mother, Helen Reddy, on the evening of September 29th 2020 in Los Angeles," they composed. 

"She was a great Mother, Grandmother and a genuinely imposing lady. Our hearts are broken. However, we breathe easy in light of the information that her voice will live on for eternity." 

Prior, Sommers posted an image with his mom inscribed with three purple hearts. 

The Melbourne-conceived Reddy, whose exploring life was sensationalized in the ongoing bio-pic I Am Woman, was viewed as the sovereign of 1970s fly with her hits including Delta Dawn, Angie Baby, Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress) and Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady. 

Australian pop symbol Helen Reddy has passed on, her family has affirmed. 

The music legend – known for her women's activist hymn I Am Woman – was 78. 

The vocalist's life was as of late transformed into a film of a similar name. 

Reddy had been living with dementia in a nursing home for resigned Hollywood stars in Los Angeles. 

In an announcement gave on Reddy's legitimate fan Facebook page (for Facebook Page click here), her youngsters Traci Donat and Jordan Sommers expressed: "It is with profound pity that we report the death of our dearest mother, Helen Reddy, on the evening of September 29th 2020 in Los Angeles. 

"She was a magnificent Mother, Grandmother and a genuinely considerable lady. Our hearts are broken. Yet, we breathe easy in light of the information that her voice will live on until the end of time." 

Sommers had before posted a photograph of his mom on Instagram, alongside three purple hearts.
